Materials

Carbon steel offers limited hardenablility, as carbon is the only material used. However, many grades of carbon steel are hardenable through heat treatment—which include quenching and tempering steps.

Adding alloying elements like Manganese, Chromium, Nickel and Molybdenum are used resulting in increased strength, toughness, and wear resistance compared to Carbon Steel.
